Laura Carrer

Laura is a researcher and a freelance journalist with a sociological background. Main focus of her work are human rights violations, surveillance technologies and their impact on society, urban studies, and the intersection between technologies and gender. She got her Bachelor Degree in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Milan Bicocca and her Master’s Degree in Social and Public communication from University of Milan. She is a researcher and also advocacy specialist for Hermes Center for Transparency and Digital Human Rights on topics related to surveillance technologies and algorithms.
